Improving lives
So while the bedrock of our work is housing, what we really do is improve people's lives. We help them to open up new horizons and make taking the steps towards them much easier. Almost 70% of our tenants told us they’d like to become homes owners, so we’ve developed some ingenious ways to help them get there.
We think it's wonderful when people do well for themselves. By helping people become home owners, we create spaces for those in real housing need. All this means we have happier, more independent tenants and better, more sustainable neighbourhoods.
How we do it
As well as all kinds of housing, our friendly services and programmes help people on their way to economic independence, greater choice and a better quality of life. Tenants who are not ready to get a job are offered volunteering opportunities or work placements to help them gain confidence. Our strong financial inclusion programme together with affordable home ownership products means that people can realistically aspire to own a stake in their own home.
