Andrew is the Director of Business Performance in the Development and New Business team at Notting Hill Housing. He's worked here for five years and done a few different jobs but all of them to do with improving and pushing forward our systems and processes so staff can do their job better.
Chris Boardman
Andrew's hero is Chris Boardman, probably best known for winning a cycling Gold medal at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics.
Andrew admires Chris because he has been successful through a combination of natural talent, lots of hard work and his use of cutting edge technology. In a similar way to Graeme Obree, Chris pushed the boundaries of what could and couldn’t be achieved and didn’t just accept things for the way they were. He was a true, honest cyclist, and he did it all "on bread and water".
Love where you work
Andrew loves where he works because of the staff – they're a diverse, vibrant bunch who are full of ideas and opinions and want to make a difference.
"I love the feistiness of the place. Staff are different here to other organisations. They’re more willing to get involved, they want their voice to be heard and are willing to have a go and put their neck on the line for something they believe in."
Three words
When asked for three words to sum up Notting Hill, Andrew, as you might expect, had a definite opinion: "vibrant, opinionated and fun" he said with a smile on his face.
A bit more about Andrew
As you might have gathered Andrew is a keen cyclist himself, riding each day from East London to Hammersmith across what he says is "the best city in the world". And, by the time he has ridden home, any stresses of work are well and truly out of his system. He thinks it's great that Notting Hill are encouraging more staff to ride.
