Micah is a Senior Neighbourhood Officer (that means he's experienced rather than old) in our Housing Management Department. He’s often the first point of contact for customers and can deal with as many as 30 people a day.
He spends a lot of his time outside of the office helping tenants in Hounslow and Hillingdon with any problems or issues they have. This can be anything from making sure they are on top of their rent payments, checking they are happy with a repair, reporting anti social behaviour (ASB) or just popping in for a cup of tea and a chat.
Mum's the word
Micah's hero is his Mum (All together now: Aaaaaaaah). She brought up Micah, his three brothers and a sister on her own, made sure they had a roof over their head and provided for them (even if they had to wait a long time for those new trainers).
His Mum taught him to respect himself, his family and other people. She also taught all her children about being honest, true and helping people.
Love where you work
It's this upbringing and the love and support from his Mum that probably led Micah to his role at Notting Hill. He likes helping people and that's why he loves where he works. No two days are the same and although he often has to deal with serious problems, with his help and support he’s seen many people overcome their problems and move forward with their lives.
Three words
When asked to sum up Notting Hill in three words Micah chose:
- Resilient, caring and loving.
A bit more about Micah
Micah has been working closely with customers for many years. Since joining Notting Hill he's become more confident and learnt a lot from colleagues and managers. Like all his friends in Housing Management he's very committed and will go out of his way to help someone. He still sees his Mum and family regularly and yes she still tells him off! But she’s also very proud of what's he achieved and loves him dearly.
